David Sachs has over 20 years of experience as a litigation solicitor. Before founding Sachs Gerace Lawyers he held senior positions with the Australian Government Solicitor and with the long established Sydney law firm Tress Cocks & Maddox. David has a Master of Laws from the University of NSW.

David’s key strength is his ability to explain complex legal issues to clients who don’t have a legal background. He cuts through the legalese to provide clients with an understanding of their legal situation and how it can be resolved.

David is experienced in all facets of litigation and dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, expert appraisals and commercial and general litigation. He has acted for builders, government bodies, architects, engineers, accountants and financial advisers.

David also drafts and provides advice on building contracts, strata law, licensing agreements, commercial leases, and partnerships and joint ventures.

Helen Amanatiadis has been a litigation solicitor for over 10 years. She started her career in insurance litigation before moving into commercial litigation and the field of building and construction litigation. She ran her own legal practice specialising in building and construction and home warranty claims before joining Sachs Gerace Lawyers in 2008.

She is experienced in handling all aspects of a matter from start to finish, from providing initial advice, with a focus on avoiding litigation if possible, to preparing court documents and relevant evidence, negotiating on your behalf both informally and in mediation, through to a full hearing if necessary.

Helen's is focused on attempting to resolve the dispute by settlement to avoid the costs of a hearing where possible. She does this by preparing thorough evidence that establishes the weaknesses in the other side's case.

Helen provides advice in building and construction contracts and disputes, security of payment claims and adjudication, environmental & planning law, strata law, consumer law and joint ventures. She has advised builders, architects, property owners, construction managers, government bodies, owner's corporations, strata managers, building consultants and corporations.

She is experienced in the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court (specifically in the specialised Technology & Construction Division), the Consumer Trader & Tenancy Tribunal and the Land & Environment Court.
